RMCI launches travel insurance product for students in collaboration with Year Abroad Information Network Thirdyearabroad.com and leading insurer QBE
RMCI the affinity insurance broking specialist has designed and launched a new online travel insurance product under the trading style of YearAbroadInsurance.com. The launch is the result of a year of research and collaboration between RMCI, graduate run year abroad information network third year abroad.com and leading insurer QBE.
RMCI were approached by Third Year Abroad and QBE to lead the design and fulfilment of a new product launch. “Finding reliable insurance cover is one of the key problems for our users” says Lizzie Fane founder of Third year Abroad. com, which is why we approached QBE with the idea of creating a new product designed specifically for this market.”
The product is designed specifically for students, who are studying or working abroad during their degree and is the first RMCI and QBE European Operations’ product available through a social networking site. The policy is available to all full-time students aged between 19 and 35, who are registered at a higher education institution in the United Kingdom. The benefits include a quick and easy signup process at www.yearabroadInsurance.com, cover for unlimited trips home, foreign tuition fees and search & rescue cover to reassure anxious parents.
Spending a year abroad is a compulsory part of a modern language degree course, during which students are required to work or study abroad to earn credits for their home university.
Mark Gibson, Underwriting Manager of Accident & Health at QBE European Operations comments: “We are very proud to be working in partnership with RMCI and ThirdYearAbroad.com. Social media is a new distribution channel for QBE, and the YearAbroadInsurance.com offering is a highly-targeted product incorporating many features suggested by previous year abroad students. It directly addresses the difficulty many students encountered when trying to get reliable and appropriate cover for their time abroad.”
Richard Manners, Managing Director of RMCI, adds: “Online trading coupled with social media distribution is a key part of RMCI’s strategy. As such we are delighted to be working with QBE and ThirdYearAbroad.com to launch YearAbroadInsurance.com”
Further new product launches with QBE are expected in the near future
